Welcome to the Official Website of my HTML Class!

Thank you for visiting this site. It is my hope that this site will be of help in my HTML classes at Brookhaven college.

There are some sample pages here for you to see and download as examples that you may modify as you need to create your own pages.
I am also keeping a class information page that will explain what is expected and what will happen in the next class.

Always remember to CLOSE your tags. The only 3 that do not have to be "closed" are P, BR and HR. Once you open a command, everything after that command will be that way until you close. This is perhaps the most common error with the formatting of a website.

The other common error you may encounter, is simple typing, command, or spelling errors. Computers are DUMB and DUTIFUL! Even if it is spelled very closely, the computer will not "figure it out".
Be sure that your open and close arrows are all correct, as well as periods, quotes, and colons. These are common errors that we all make, and unfortunately, most often the most diffucult to locate. Most lilkely, if your page is not as you want it to be, your error is one of these small things.
Commas and periods are very similar looking, as are colons and semicolons. This is the first place to look. Also, check to be your = sign is correct.

I hope these tips help. I have found that most of my errors occur with the small typos, not the HTML itself. It is VERY common to make these errors, and I make plenty, so don't worry, just get in there and program!

I have included my HTML Tag List handout that we use in class. It is in DOC format for Microsoft Word.
